What slows a website build down?
Most delays come from waiting, not building:
- Text, photos and service lists that aren’t written yet
- Domain access, which often needs a scheduled handoff because registrars ask for two-factor confirmation
- Slow feedback on the preview
- Waiting on approval from several people
- Features added halfway through
Why does content take the longest?
Content takes the longest because only the owner can supply it. A designer can choose a layout in an afternoon, but the words about your services, your prices and your story have to come from you. Photos of real work take time to gather, and a site waiting on them waits at every step. Rough notes are enough to start: on reddysite, nothing in the brief needs to be polished.
How does a reddysite build run?
A reddysite build follows four steps, set out in how reddysite works:
- Create a free account.
- Fill in your brief at your own pace.
- Order, which starts the build.
- Review the preview, then go live on your domain.
The clock starts when reddysite has your content. A missing photo gets a placeholder and a short list, not a delay.
What happens to my current site meanwhile?
An existing site stays up and untouched during a reddysite build. The new site is built on its own preview address, and the domain moves only when you say go. Moving off WordPress covers the switch in detail.
What can I prepare ahead of time?
Gathering these before you start saves the most time:
- Your logo and a few real photos
- A list of services, with a line on each
- Hours, phone number, address and service area
- Your domain registrar login
- Two or three sites you like, and why
Once the site is live, what a reddysite does after launch takes over.
